My 5 Best cPanel Hosting Providers Based on Research and Experience

There’s a lot that goes into managing your website. You can carry out many of the tasks necessary to keep your installation running smoothly from an admin dashboard, but there are some situations where you’ll need to access your server directly. By choosing cPanel hosting, you get one of the most comprehensive and user-friendly server control panels on the market.

This web hosting dashboard manager provides many key features to streamline your file and database maintenance, troubleshooting, security, and more. Unless you need direct access to your server, cPanel hosting will save you a lot of time by helping you take care of basic configuration tasks.

In this article, I’m going to compare five of the best cPanel hosting providers available and share their details with you. Let’s do it!

My five favorite cPanel hosting providers 💙

The hosting companies featured here are ones that I’m familiar with and that I’ve had some experience with in difference capacities. When putting this list together I took into consideration how much their plans cost and what they offer for that money.

I also had conversations with all of their customer support chat teams to confirm which of their plans include cPanel and which do not. You’ll be able to see the screenshots of those conversations in the individual sections below.

1. A2 Hosting

A2 Hosting

This host is best known for its Turbo Web Hosting Servers and good performance. They also have a deep roster of hosting plans that cater to a variety of needs. Whether you need shared hosting for a simple blog or a heavy duty dedicated server to run a complex operation, A2 Hosting has got you covered.

cPanel comes pre-installed on all of A2 Hosting’s shared, managed Virtual Private Server (VPS), managed WordPress, and managed dedicated hosting plans. It’s also included on the reseller hosting plans.

For customer support, they offer phone, a live chat, a ticket system, and an extensive knowledge base you can browse for self-help.

Features ⚙️

Additional features provided by A2 Hosting include:

  • Storage starting at 10 GB
  • Free website migration services
  • Access to all the Google Workspace applications via cPanel
  • WordPress toolkit
  • All cPanel licensing levels are available (so you can scale as you need to)
  • 30-day money back guarantee

Pricing 💰

A2 Hosting offers so many plans that use cPanel that I can’t list them all here individually. The easiest way to think about it, is that all of their shared, managed, and reseller plans include it, while their un-managed plans do not.

Here’s a rundown of the entry-level prices across the cPanel-included categories:

  • Shared hosting: Starts at $2.99 per month.
  • Managed WordPress hosting: Starts at $11.99 per month.
  • Managed VPS hosting: Starts at $2.99 per month.
  • Managed dedicated hosting: Starts at $129.00 per month.
  • Reseller hosting: Starts at $17.99 per month.
A2 Hosting customer support confirming which plans have cPanel and which do not.

Bottom line ⚠️

Overall, A2 Hosting has an attractive array of plans with some useful features. Their plans are fairly affordable if you choose a long-term contract. In addition, they are the only company on the list to offer managed hosting services that also have cPanel bundled in. The other hosts do have managed services, but they come with their own custom control panels instead of cPanel.

2. Bluehost

Bluehost

Bluehost is well known as one of the most popular web hosting providers around. It has also consistently performed well in our hosting comparisons and WordPress user surveys.

They offer shared, WordPress, VPS, and dedicated server plans. All of them include a customized cPanel interface that provides access to a variety of one-click-install tools and services. The only Bluehost plans that do not include cPanel are their Cloud plans.

In terms of customer support, most plans offer a combination of 24/7 phone and chat support. The exception is the entry-level shared hosting plan (which includes the entry-level WordPress hosting). That plan limits you to chat support only.

Features ⚙️

Bluehost plans include:

  • NVMe storage (which is faster than standard SSD)
  • Free SSL certificate with all shared plans (including the WordPress plans)
  • AI site creation tools on shared hosting plans
  • Dedicated IP address on all VPS and dedicated server plans
  • DDR5 RAM on all VPS and dedicated server plans
  • Free migration service
  • 30-day money back guarantee

Pricing 💰

Price-wise, Bluehost is known for having aggressive promotional pricing. This means you need to take into account the renewal rate when planning for long-term costs.

With that said, the starting prices are as follows:

  • Shared hosting: Starts at $1.99 per month.
  • WordPress hosting: Starts at $1.99 per month.
  • Online Store hosting: Starts at $7.45 per month.
  • VPS hosting: Starts at $46.99 per month.
  • Dedicated hosting: Starts at $141.19 per month.
Bluehost customer support confirming which plans have cPanel included.

Bottom line ⚠️

Besides offering cPanel on almost all of their plans, Bluehost also has a very beginner-friendly setup process that’s catered to first-time WordPress users. This makes it an excellent option for those who want to use WordPress to build their website(s) but have never done it before and might feel slightly intimidated. I would probably skip their higher-level offerings like VPS because you can get better prices for comparable features elsewhere (for example with Namecheap).

3. InMotion Hosting

InMotion

In the past, InMotion Hosting has pleasantly surprised us with the quality of its hosting services (particularly for WordPress users). cPanel is included with this provider’s shared, managed, WordPress, VPS, and dedicated hosting. You can also become a reseller via InMotion and provide cPanel access to your own customers.

Similar to Bluehost, InMotion Hosting has customized cPanel for its clients. In addition to adapting the interface so the features you need are easier to find, this host claims to have decreased loading times for the platform through the use of solid state drives (SSDs).

For customer support, you’ll get a combination of phone, live chat, ticket, and knowledge base. Although some of the lower level plans offer chat support only.

Features ⚙️

Most plans include:

  • Unlimited bandwidth
  • Free email hosting
  • Access to built-in marketing and security tools
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Free domain in your first year on all shared plans
  • 90-day money back guarantee

Plus, if you’re migrating from another hosting provider InMotion will transfer your settings to your new account themselves.

Pricing 💰

Just like with Bluehost, InMotion’s plans are heavily reduced in the initial contract period – though on a percentage basis it’s not quite as bad as Bluehost. Nonetheless, you need to be mindful of the renewal rates.

The starting prices are as follows:

  • Shared hosting: Starts at $2.79 per month.
  • WordPress hosting: Starts at $3.29 per month.
  • VPS hosting: Starts at $4.49 per month.
  • Dedicated hosting: Starts at $35.00 per month.
  • Reseller hosting: Starts at $13.99 per month.
Asking InMotion customer support which hosting plans include cPanel and which do not.

Bottom line ⚠️

InMotion offers a lot of nice features. They are also flexible with contract lengths, but to get the best deals, it’s better to go for a long-term contract. That will lock in the promo rate for a while. Considering that they offer a 90-day money back guarantee, it gives you more than enough time to evaluate whether they are a good fit for your needs.

4. Namecheap

Namecheap

For a while Namecheap was mainly known for its domain registrar services, but over the years it transformed itself into a full-fledged hosting provider. They are at a point now where their offerings are neck-and-neck with the top names in the industry. In many instances – especially given their low pricing – they offer a lot more in return for how much they ask.

Namecheap offers cPanel with most – but not all – of their plans. Their reseller hosting is particularly attractive, as it not only includes cPanel, but it even lets you brand it. This way your own hosting customers will see your brandname instead of Namecheap.

As far as Namecheap’s cPanel interface goes, it’s pretty standard, but it does include a few unique features. For example, there is a direct link to the Namecheap knowledge base, and links to launch apps using Python, Ruby, and Node.js. The latter are sure to be appreciated by developers.

For customer support, you’ll get live chat, tickets, email, and a knowledge base. There is no phone support. However, from personal experience, I can vouch for the exceptional quality of service that Namecheap offers via live chat.

Features ⚙️

Beyond cPanel, key Namecheap features include:

  • Unlimited websites (with every tier except the entry-level shared hosting plan)
  • Free SSL certificates for the first year on shared hosting plans
  • Twice per week backups (higher plans offer backups daily)
  • Free Content Delivery Network (CDN) integration
  • Free email hosting
  • 30-day money back guarantee

Pricing 💰

As far as cost goes, here’s what you can expect from the plans that include cPanel by default:

  • Shared hosting: Starts at $1.58 per month.
  • Reseller hosting: Starts at $19.88 per month.

The following plans offer cPanel, but it must be purchased separately:

  • VPS hosting: Starts at $6.88 per month.
  • Dedicated server hosting: Starts at $41.88 per month.

Namecheap also has managed WordPress hosting plans starting from $2.91 per month, but these don’t come with cPanel.

Confirming with customer support which Namecheap plans come with cPanel.

Bottom line ⚠️

Overall, Namecheap’s prices are aggressively competitive and generally lower than the industry. This goes for both their initial promo rates and their renewal rates. If you factor in the renewal cost of domain names into your overall pricing, then the cost savings become even more pronounced. On top of that, they have a lot of unique tools and features to help you. These include a graphic design tool (similar to Canva), a business card maker, and more.

5. GreenGeeks

GreenGeeks

This host is unique in that it’s not only a good choice for your website(s), but also for Planet Earth. As its name implies, GreenGeeks has a number of environmental initiatives that are implemented into their business model. With that said, even if you took that element away, it’s still an exceptionally good hosting company.

All GreenGeeks hosting plans include cPanel. You’ll be able to access your cPanel account using the login information they send you after you register for hosting with them. If you ever lose your login credentials, just contact the GreenGeeks support staff, and they’ll help you access your account. For VPS plans, if you wish to buy more than the one included cPanel account that comes bundled with the plan, you can do so separately.

One really nice feature that GreenGeeks offers (that not all hosts do) is the ability to choose from five different data centers – Phoenix, Chicago, Toronto, Montreal and Amsterdam. You can decide this at checkout.

Their customer support is arguably the most comprehensive on this list in terms of options. They have phone support, live chat, ticket support, email support, a knowledge base, and tutorials.

Features ⚙️

From GreenGeek’s plans, you can expect the following:

  • Free migration services from other hosting providers
  • Content Delivery Network (CDN) integration for improved performance
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Daily backups
  • Access to developer tools like Perl, Python, Git, WP-CLI, Drush, and more
  • A tree will be planted if you open an account
  • 30-day money back guarantee

Pricing 💰

When it comes to cost, GreenGeeks offers reasonable rates:

  • Shared hosting: Starts at $2.95 per month.
  • WordPress hosting: Starts at $2.95 per month.
  • VPS hosting: Starts at $69.95 per month.
  • Reseller hosting: Starts at $19.95 per month.

They used to offer dedicated server plans as well, but customer support informed us that they were discontinued.

Bottom line ⚠️

Overall, GreenGeeks is a solid choice. It has everything you’d want from a good hosting provider. The only drawback – as with most hosting companies – is that the renewal rates jump up fairly significantly after the initial contract period. So do pay attention to that before you confirm your purchase. To be fair, even though that’s the case, the renewal rates are a more accurate reflection of the true value of their plans. The promo rates are under-priced with everything they offer.

Which solution is best for you?

Any of the hosts we’ve covered in this post will provide you with a top-notch account management experience via cPanel. To help you make a final decision (if you haven’t made one already), below is our comparison table from earlier:

Overall, Namecheap offers the best value if you want a standard cPanel experience. It has a minor edge over the others due to better long-term pricing on both hosting and domain names.

Bluehost is an excellent choice for beginner WordPress users who might need some hand-holding with getting started.

GreenGeeks is a great pick if you want a nice suite of features while contributing to a greener world. They will literally plant a tree if you open an account with them. Plus they have arguably the most comprehensive customer support, with more options to reach them than any other provider.

For the longest money-back guarantee in the industry (90 days) and U.S. customer support, go with InMotion Hosting.

Finally, A2 Hosting is your best bet if you want both cPanel and managed hosting services. All the other companies’ managed hosting options use some other control panel besides cPanel.
