Part-Time WordPress Expert (E-commerce Website Management)

    About the Role
    We are looking for a skilled WordPress Expert to support the ongoing management of our e-commerce website. While we have an in-house design team to handle visuals and branding, we need a reliable and proactive developer who can manage the technical side of WordPress—especially when things break.
    This role is ideal for someone who can jump in to fix critical site issues, perform regular maintenance, ensure optimal performance, and guide us when WordPress-specific decisions need to be made.

    MUST BE A COMPANY IN THE US.

    Key Responsibilities
    Monitor, maintain, and update the WordPress website and WooCommerce setup.

    Troubleshoot technical issues as they arise (plugin conflicts, update failures, site errors, etc.).
    Perform regular plugin, theme, and core updates with compatibility checks
    Manage website security, backups, and uptime monitoring.
    Optimize site performance for speed and mobile responsiveness.
    Provide support and advice on improvements, configurations, or best practices.
    Set up or configure essential tools/plugins (e.g., SEO, analytics, caching, payment gateways).
    Act as a technical advisor for the non-technical team when WordPress-related questions come up.

    Requirements
    5+ years of hands-on experience with WordPress and WooCommerce.
    Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
    Solid knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL.
    Experience with page builders like Elementor or WPBakery (helpful but not required for design).
    Familiarity with common plugins and their configuration (e.g., Yoast, WP Rocket, Stripe, PayPal).
    Ability to work independently and explain technical issues in simple terms.
    Comfortable managing staging environments and pushing updates to live.
    Proficiency with security practices, performance optimization, and uptime monitoring tools.

    Preferred But Not Required
    Familiarity with hosting platforms (e.g., Hostinger, WP Engine, Cloudways).
    Understanding of DNS, SSL, and CDN setup.
