Using ARIA Landmark Roles in WordPress
In an effort to promote accessibility in WordPress, and help us devs meet WordPress.org’s accessibility-ready tag theme review requirement, Rachel Vasquez shares some of her recent experience with ARIA. ARIA stand for Assistive Rich Internet Applications and was designed to provide extra information to screen readers via HTML attributes. When combined with HTML5 elements, using ARIA landmark roles is a great way to increase accessibility in our themes and bring us closer to a more accessible web.
