Pretty much!

1. No, although they wanted to promote themselves through WPShout. The only other blog I know of that they’ve moved the server is CatsWhoCode.

2. In my experience, no, although whether that has changed since I was moved, I couldn’t say.

Slightly ironic the day I write my “honest review” their support team screws up all of the posts and pages for the site; I’d had trouble with the automatic upgrader, so I asked them to have a look. I got a response within a couple of minutes saying they’d do so. Great. Except the person who did it renamed the .htaccess file which meant all pages and posts were inaccessible until a kind reader pointed it out to me on Twitter! In a roundabout way, that’s saying yeah, the support isn’t that great.

As for Foress, I found out the other day he’s left, which explains why he’s not responding to your queries!

I use them too for my site, I had exactly the same issues as you with the downtime. Though I seemed to notice it even more frequently than you. I was also moved to a new server and the problems vanished instantly.

A few months ago I found their support excellent, 9/10 my request was answered by Foress usually within a couple of hours. He really seems to know his stuff! However, maybe it’s because they’ve gained a lot of popularity now but I’ve not heard from Foress in a long time. It seems to be that all requests are now answered by the Exabytes team, who don’t seem to know much about WordPress at all.

Still, I wouldn’t move away, the price is excellent and your problems will still be sorted eventually. It just might take a little bit longer than it did a few months ago.

Ok, so what I understand is that WP Webhost had to move you to a better server when you shouted about the downtimes on Twitter.

That’s cool and everything, but 2 questions come into my mind:

1. did you pay extra for the move on a better server?

2. their regular plan doesn’t handle trafiic spikes at all?

It’s kinda awkward thinking about it, because I too promoted WP Web Host (especially their Halloween contest), and I was under the impression that they do a damn good job At least it’s good to know they don’t fall into the “unlimited everything” category, because we all knowwhat this means (check out THIS WEB HOST and read their article on defacing unlimited hosts)

As for myself, I went with Bluehost for a personal project, and if all goes well, ThemeDigital will be moved there – I’ll write about it in 3 months like you did, this is very useful for the community
